Hard Work

I can see my boss over the maze of cubicles. He looks around, catches my eye, pretends he doesn't see me, and then guiltily starts clicking his mouse seemingly absorbed in work. Thats because the company has no work for me. Thats right, I've been sitting in my office for a week, supposed to be in training but actually only surfing the web. Everytime I speak to the boss about it he makes some evasive reply about things picking up soon; but I anticipate no such contingency in the near future. Till then I shall reply to scraps, write emails, watch hundreds of videos and stagger home bleary eyed every day.
Life's good.

The Class of No Return

T'was the spring of a brand new year,
bright eyed, all together here.
T'was the start of hopes and dreams,
excitement, joy, shouts and screams.

We sauntered in to class one day,
Unknowing that we be mere prey,
to the residing monsters of evil,
of this castle , ruled by the devil.

Terror Struck at our young hearts,
When she walked in to these parts.
"Pull Down" "Pull Down" she cried
"or else your buttocks will be fried".

Sighing we were resigned to fate
believing there be nothing more to hate,
Little knowing what was in store
On our heads more miseries did pour.

Round and jolly, he looked fun,
Alas! he was much too prone to pun,
Comedy, he said it was..
Unaware of the damage it caused.

Wait there's more, its not over yet
Waddling in She looked calm and set.
Her tongue was sure, swift and sharp,
Upon her no more shall we harp.

Tired and broken, we were down,
Until he came, he who deserved the crown.
The greatest man in this castle of fear
Who dried our every one last tear.

The other residents think he's a pest
Undaunted he throws an open book test.
He walks alone, this man of soul.
Giving us hope in this hell-hole.
